After playing on PS3 constantly since launch I finally got burned out and moved on, plus I finally got a gaming rig and a 360. BUT! Has anyone checked the heists out? Are they worth coming back? Want to do one?

I've only done one proper heist so far, but I certainly had a good time with it, and with all the different roles for each job, I can definitely see there being a lot of replay value in each individual one.
My only real issue so far is that Rockstar's servers have been a little dicey since the Heist update - player volume, I suppose - which is why I technically haven't completed a full heist yet. Me and my friends were at the point of completing the first proper four-player heist - no more than a couple of minutes more would've done it - but the servers gave out, and a couple of us got disconnected. We haven't had the collective free time to try again yet.

Haven't had a chance... Everyone is overloading Rockstar's servers and I can only stay online for 30 minutes at most. Also, all of my friends are losers who won't play anymore, and a couple days ago I was going to do one with Tohru, but couldn't get online at all.
But yeah, I'm on 360 and GT is GoatBird, if you or anyone else wants to tackle them once the servers get more reliable.

They are either brilliant or terrible.
The tutorial heist was fine not much else to say on that.
I did the prison heist with a bunch of northern blokes and it was bloody brilliant. They were competent and communicated great.
Where as the labs mission was a shit show. This time I played with a bunch of Scottish children who were beyond useless. After we failed the jump jet mission for the 9th time I rage quit and haven't touched it since.
So yeah when playing with randoms it really depends on who you're playing with.

If I could switch my character over to the 360 I would join you, sadly I cannot. But good to know I'm waiting out the server issues regardless.

How does it work with randoms? I guess I could answer my own question tonight and try it, but I thought you needed to like schedule sessions with your friends to do all the steps before the main job?

Invites are sent out like everything else. You can jump in at any point of the heist. Only the heist leader's progress is saved.

I haven't downloaded the update yet (I'm on PS3) because it screwed up a lot of single player stuff (vehicle damage physics, missing vehicles, etc.). Also, none of the new vehicles/weapons are in SP and Rockstar support reps are telling people that they're online only. That bugs me as I don't play online very often.

Man, if I'd noticed you outside, I'd have said hi! It's so weird to see my Sultan just sitting there.
Anyway, yeah, I was definitely shopping. I went from over $500,000 to flat broke after the update came out; all my cash went on clothes - so many clothes - a new gun or two, a couple of motorbikes, and the Kuruma/Evo. I'm assembling a rally car collection... Which I would share a screenshot of, if my Xbox were in a cooperative mood.

the heists are cool except for when someone sux. You do your mission and then fail.

I know the feeling. Just before the update I blew 2.8 mil on stuff, a lot of stuff only to find out the jump jet costs 3 mil. Properly gutted as the Hyrda is still as awesome as it was in San Andreas.
